On April 6, 2009, after the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 came into effect, the activities of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate under the Ministry of Commerce at 1, Karwan Bazar, TCB Bhawan (8th floor) in Dhaka, started in the same year. Later, the activities of the Chuadanga district office of the directorate began.
